LivingAwryStudios:

Where Food, Life, and Curiosity Collide

Who I am — a quick intro

Hi — I’m Summer. I run LivingAwryStudios as a one-person studio where food, lifestyle, and software meet. I built Dishova — a meal-planning and recipe management app — because I wanted a tool that solved my own weekend meal chaos. Along the way I learned a ton about building apps, designing simple UIs, and making products that people actually want to use.

This post is the place for studio updates, behind-the-scenes, and early access to new apps and experimental games. If you like the idea of a maker who also cooks, you’ll probably enjoy what’s coming next.

Why Dishova happened (short story)

  • Problem: I was wasting food and time every week and I couldn’t find a single app that matched how I cook.
  • Solution: I built Dishova — a lightweight Flutter app with smart meal planning, pantry tracking, recipe import, and shopping-list generation.
  • Result: Dishova helps me plan a week in minutes and reduces “what’s for dinner” stress.

What LivingAwryStudios does now

  1. Ship useful food & lifestyle tools (Dishova as primary product)
  2. Create helpful content (this blog: recipes, meal planning, tips)
  3. Experiment with new apps and simple games to learn and diversify
  4. Build community — beta testers, readers, and early supporters

Upcoming projects & experiments

  • Dishova improvements: smarter suggestions, cross-device sync improvements, more import sources
  • Mini apps: micro-utilities for kitchen tasks (shopping list widgets, meal template generators)
  • Experimental game: a small casual game prototype that explores food-themed puzzles (early stage)
  • Community features: tighter integration between blog UGC and Dishova (user-submitted recipes & collections)

I’ll post regular development updates here and invite readers to test new builds.

How you can help / get involved

  • Try Dishova — download link (replace with Play Store URL)
  • Join the studio newsletter for beta invites and behind-the-scenes notes
  • Share feedback: feature requests, bugs, and wishlist ideas
  • Follow the project on X / GitHub: @livingawrystudios (or provide your preferred handles)

Roadmap snapshot (30 / 90 days)

  • 0–30 days: polish the onboarding, fix top 5 user-reported bugs, publish 3 studio diary posts
  • 30–90 days: smart collection rules (premium), initial prototype for the food puzzle game, Product Hunt prep for a mini-app
  • Longer term: cross-platform web release, grocery delivery integrations, video recipe features

Final note

Running a solo studio is messy, rewarding, and a lot like cooking: you try, taste, adjust, and ship. If you want to follow along, get early access, or just talk apps + recipes, sign up for the newsletter or hit reply.
